What causes fever?

Treatment should match the cause
Hydration is important in many febrile illnesses.
Paracetamol or other appropriate medicines may be used for comfort.
Used when bacterial infection is suspected or confirmed—not for every fever.
Used only for selected infections when indicated.
Needed when there is sepsis, dehydration, organ dysfunction or inability to manage safely at home.
